Our team of property experts at Engel & Völkers Ibiza knows the most beautiful hiking routes on the island, where you can get some exercise or relax and unwind - read on for inspiration for your next discovery tour!

Moderate hike along the coast: from beach to beach in the south of Ibiza

On the hiking route from Playa d'en Bossa to Es Cavallet beach, you can enjoy the special beauty of Ibiza's coastal landscape. At around eight kilometres long, the hike takes an average of two hours. However, allowing a little more time is advisable, as there are numerous hidden coves along the way - the ideal opportunity for a quick refreshment in between. The Ses Salines nature reserve with its numerous traditionally managed salt pans, which you will pass along the way, is a particular highlight of this hiking route. When you arrive at the beach of Es Cavallet, you have the opportunity to indulge in culinary delights in one of the exclusive beach bars and restaurants and enjoy the view of the surrounding dunes and pine trees as well as the azure blue Mediterranean Sea.

In the south of Ibiza, in addition to Playa d'en Bossa and Es Cavallet, there are also a number of unknown beaches and bays where you can soak up the natural beauty of the island in a tranquil atmosphere. In our article about the southern region of Ibiza, the property consultants at Engel & Völkers introduce you to the picturesque towns of Cala Moli, Cala Tarida and Cala Bassa!

San José to Sa Talaia: enjoy the breathtaking view from Ibiza's highest mountain

The path from San José to the summit of Sa Talaia in the south of the island is one of the most popular hiking routes on the island. This is no wonder, as Ibiza's highest mountain at 475 metres offers visitors an unforgettable island panorama. The easily accessible hiking route starts in the church square of San José and leads through dense, shady pine forests, where Ibiza's unique flora and fauna are in full bloom. Once you reach your destination, you will be greeted by a unique view of the glittering Mediterranean Sea and the rolling hills - on a clear day, you may even catch a glimpse of the other islands in the Balearic group. Once you have completed the descent towards Cala Tarida, you can take the bus back to the traditional Ibizan village of San José. Depending on your pace, you should allow around two and a half to four hours for this slightly challenging 15-kilometre hike.

Ibiza not only offers ideal conditions for nature lovers and outdoor sports enthusiasts: the island's characteristic lifestyle, which is characterized by exclusivity as well as local traditions and customs, attracts people from all over the world year after year. This unique combination also makes Ibiza a sought-after property location. Would you also like to buy a spacious villa, a charming apartment or a spacious finca in one of Ibiza's fantastic locations? Hiking on Ibiza: Engel & Völkers property consultants know the best routes

Near Santa Eulalia del Rio, to the east, there is a moderate circular hiking trail on which you can admire Ibiza's imposing cliffs and the long sandy beaches of Sol d'en Serra and Cala Llonga. The route, which is around 4 kilometres long, also leads over the imposing Puig de ses Torretes mountain - at the top of which you can enjoy a fantastic view of the Mediterranean landscape! This adventurous hiking route can be completed in around one hour and 30 minutes.

Discover Ibiza's unspoilt natural landscape: Pla de Corona and Sa Penya Esbarrada

The idyllic Pla de Corona valley in the municipality of San Antonio is home to a dreamy circular hiking trail with a low level of difficulty that is ideal for nature lovers. In addition to many olive and carob trees, the valley is lined with numerous almond trees, which create a unique natural spectacle in spring with their pink-coloured blossoms. This hiking route also takes you to the archaeological site of Sa Penya Esbarrada with its imposing cliffs and rocky outcrops - the sunsets you can watch from here are simply unforgettable.

Hiking in Portinatx: Varied circular tour in the north of Ibiza

This hike along the coast of Portinatx takes you to an impressive structure: the Moscarter lighthouse, the highest lighthouse on the Balearic Islands, rises majestically above the steep coastline and is worth a visit at any time of year. While the entire circular walk towards Cala d'en Serra takes around three hours and is particularly suitable for advanced hikers, the direct route from Far des Moscarter back to the charming municipality of Portinatx takes around an hour.
