Ibiza's art scene: fairs, galleries and exhibitions

When most people think of Ibiza, images of turquoise coves and legendary beach clubs come to mind. But in recent years, the island has quietly transformed into a thriving hub for contemporary art and culture—attracting not only collectors and curators, but also lifestyle investors looking to make Ibiza their second home. With high-profile art events and a growing local scene, the island offers a rare blend of creative energy, natural beauty, and exclusive real estate.

Contemporary Art Now (CAN) returns to Ibiza

One of the most anticipated events of the summer is the CAN Art Fair (Contemporary Art Now), taking place from June 25 to 29, 2025 at the FECOEV venue in Ibiza Town. Featuring over 30 cutting-edge galleries from around the world—including cities like New York, Paris, and Berlin—the fair showcases emerging and mid-career artists pushing the boundaries of contemporary art. Expect a diverse mix of media: from sculpture and painting to textiles, video art, and immersive installations.

What makes CAN particularly exciting is its connection to the island itself. Art spills beyond the fairgrounds into Ibiza’s landscape through an OFF-programme running from late May through early July. These satellite exhibitions are hosted in unique locations such as the Far de ses Coves Blanques, an old lighthouse-turned-gallery, and the underground art space in Santa Eulària’s old air-raid shelter. Even neighboring Formentera joins in, with works displayed in chic venues like Hotel Blanco.

This dynamic crossover between international sophistication and local charm is exactly what draws creative-minded investors to Ibiza—and keeps them coming back.

A vibrant local gallery scene

Beyond the seasonal art fairs, Ibiza maintains a strong year-round gallery presence, offering creative spaces that cater to collectors and art lovers alike.

One standout is La Nave Salinas, housed in a stunning former salt warehouse near Ses Salines. This industrial-chic venue hosts world-class exhibitions and has featured renowned artists such as Keith Haring, Bill Viola, and Kenny Scharf.

In Santa Gertrudis, Parra & Romero connects Ibiza with the global art scene, focusing on conceptual and minimalist work while also experimenting with outdoor installations and ephemeral projects.

Over in Ibiza Town, Lune Rouge, founded by Cirque du Soleil’s Guy Laliberté, blends performance, technology, and fine art to support both emerging and established artists.

Meanwhile, P|Art Ibiza in Ca Na Negreta offers a more eclectic mix, showcasing painting, photography, and sculpture infused with pop culture and local lifestyle influences—ideal for discovering fresh talent with an island twist.

Lastly, the Bloop Festival brings vibrant street art to the forefront, transforming parts of Ibiza Town into an open-air gallery filled with politically and socially charged murals that remain on display year-round, contributing to the island’s dynamic cultural identity.

Art, lifestyle & property: a natural connection

For many culture-minded buyers, Ibiza offers more than just a place to escape—it’s a place to live creatively. Properties here reflect that spirit, from minimalist villas that double as private galleries to country homes that open onto sculpture gardens. Being close to cultural centers like Santa Gertrudis, Dalt Vila, or Sant Josep gives residents access to both serenity and inspiration.

The island’s growing art scene is also contributing to its long-term investment appeal. Just like art itself, Ibiza real estate continues to grow in value—especially properties with unique design, heritage, or location.

Ibiza’s identity is evolving—and it’s becoming clear that art and culture are at the heart of that transformation. For those who love beauty, creativity, and a lifestyle infused with inspiration, this island offers more than a destination—it offers a home.
